The Korean Education Centre is proud to sponsor and promote the Summer Program at the Seoul National University of Education (SNUE) and Pusan National University (PNU). With support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Korean Education Centre, this Summer Program introduces University students in Toronto to South Korea and Korean culture. Students are eligible to have this course transferred back to their University degree as a Letter of Permission (3.0 credits). 3.1운동 및 임시정부수립 100주년을 맞이해 요크리전교육청 소속 KCCM 한글학교 학생들이 태극기로 바람개비를 만들며 나라를 위해 희생하고 헌신한 모든 분들에게 존경과 따뜻한 마음을 전하였습니다.

한국 예비교사들, 온주 교원자격 취득에 관심이 커 -한국 교대 사대학생들은 온주에서 교육실습 추진- □ 주토론토총영사관 캐나다한국교육원(원장 이병승)은 한국의 교원자격 소지자들과 대학생들을 대상으로 온주 교원 자격 취득과 취업에 대한 설명회를 한국에서 가졌다. 이번 한국 설명회에는 제니퍼 케이 주한캐나다대사관 일등서기관도 참석하여 한국과 캐나다 간 교육 인력 교류가 활성화되도록 노력하겠다고 하였다. 300여명의 참석자들이 행사장을 가득 메워, 캐나다 교원 자격 취득에 대한 관심도가 얼마나 높은지를 보여주었다. 특히, Rebecca Luce-Kapler(퀸즈대학교 사범대학교 학장)는 온주 교원 양성제도와 고용 현황에 대해 직접 설명하였으며, 2019년부터 한국 예비교사들을 대상으로 시행되는 Bridge 프로그램도 설명하였다. Bridge 프로그램은 1년 과정의 온타리오주 교사 프로그램과 교육 실습, 그리고 수료 후 1년의 워크 퍼밋을 주는 프로그램으로 교육원이 퀸즈대학교와 함께 개발하였다. □ 올해부터 한국 예비교사들의 교육실습도 온타리오주에서 이루어진다. 캐나다한국교육원은 한국교원대, 공주대, 서울교대, 춘천교대 등과 협의하여 2019년부터 온타리오주에서 교육실습을 실시하기로 결정하였으며, 각 대학교들은 올해 상반기부터 학생들을 온주로 보낼 계획이다. 온주에서의 교육실습은 한국에서도 인정받는 과정이기 때문에 각 대학교별로 학생들 사이에 매우 인기 있는 실습과정이 될 것으로 예측하고 있으며, 각 대학들은 정부 지원 사업으로 이러한 실습 과정을 운영할 예정이다. □ 이병승 교육원장은 ‘우수한 한국의 예비 교원들이 캐나다에 진출할 수 있도록 프로그램이나 제도를 지속적으로 개발할 것이며, 특히 한국의 대학교들과 협력하여 온주에서의 교육실습을 확대해 나가겠다.’고 하였다. 또한 이원장은 퀸즈대학과 협력하여 온주에 거주하는 한국 교원자격 소지자들을 대상으로 한 캐나다 내국인 학비 및 토론토에 학습장 설치 등 편의를 제공하기로 하였다.
