Korean Education Affairs Section (Director: Lee Ji-eun) is operating the “Korean Language Intensive Camp 2026” to help youth from diverse backgrounds systematically learn Korean and experience Korean culture together with their peers. The camp is designed not only for students who have been exposed to Korean at home, but also for those who are newly interested in the Korean language and culture.
This year, in particular, the program has been enhanced in terms of professionalism and diversity by linking educational and cultural resources from both Korea and Canada. Faculty members from the Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Toronto will deliver Korean language instruction at different proficiency levels, while the Korean volunteer organization KOVA will support the learning environment. In addition, students will be able to experience Korean language and culture through various activities, including K-pop and K-beauty (personal color) programs led by dispatched instructors from the Sejong Culture Academy, hanji (traditional Korean paper) craft workshops offered by the Jeonbuk International Cooperation Agency, and minhwa (Korean folk painting) sessions led by local experts in Toronto.
