2026 Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Scholarship – Recruitment Announcement for Korean Language Instructors

The Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation aims to recruit foreign Korean language instructors with teaching experience in 2026 to support the development of Korean language teaching competencies and to foster future talent in the fields of Korean language and Korean studies.

■ Program Overview

This scholarship program supports foreign instructors who are currently teaching Korean in their home countries, enabling them to strengthen their teaching capabilities through training in Korea.

■ Eligibility

• Foreign nationals currently working as Korean language instructors (professors or lecturers)

• At least 3 years of experience teaching Korean

• TOPIK Level 5 or higher (valid score within the official validity period)

• Under 40 years of age / Open to applicants from 123 eligible countries

■ Scholarship Benefits

• Enrollment in the regular program at Yonsei University Korean Language Institute + specialized Korean language teaching methodology courses

• Housing provided near Yonsei University

• Round-trip airfare between home country and Korea

• Financial support: KRW 2,000,000 for settlement + KRW 800,000 per month for study + KRW 500,000 upon completion

• Additional support for Korean-related activities after completion (once per year, up to KRW 3,000,000)
