캐나다 온타리오주 토론토에서는 한국 교원자격증을 온타리오 교원자격증으로 전환해 준다고 하는데요. 전환할 수 있는 한국 교원자격증은 한국 교원 자격증 정교사 1급 및 2급 (초등, 중등 자격증)이 있습니다. 전환 조건은 한국 교원 자격증이 있어야 하며, 언어능력 시험을 영어 또는 불어로 봐서 통과하여야 합니다. 영어는 토플 IBT 103점 또는 IELTS 7을 받아야하며, 불어는 TESTCan 5급을 받아야합니다. (언어 능력 시험 파트별 통과 기준 있음, 붙임 파일 참조) 전환 후 취업은 온타리오주 내 72개 교육청별로 채용 공고를 하므로, 개별 교육청에 지원합니다. 서류접수와 면접은 온라인으로도 가능한 교육청이 있습니다. 또한 교육청 별로 임시교사, 장기계약 교사, 정규교사로 구분하여 채용합니다. 취직이 잘 되는 과목과 지역은 캐나다 공용어인 프랑스어, 고등학교 수학, 과학, 컴퓨터관련 과목, 특수 교사가 수요가 많습니다. 또한, 토론토를 중심으로 한 도심 보다는 외곽 지역의 취업률이 높습니다. 취직이 잘 되는 과목 이수자가 아니더라도, 자격 전환 후에 Additioanl Qualification을 받으면, 교과 자격에 추가할 수 있습니다. 추가 과목 자격을 받는데에는, 4개월에서 1년 정도 소요될 수 있습니다.. 전환 신청은 필요서류 (교원자격증, 4년간 성적표, 범죄경력 회보서, 어학능력 성적표, 경력증명서)를 준비한 뒤, www.oct.ca 에 온라인으로 신청하면 됩니다. 심사기간은 최소 4개월 정도 소요될 예정이며 신청비용은 캐나다 달러로 700불이 듭니다. The Korean Honor Scholarship(KHS) The Korean Honor Scholarship Committee extends an invitation to Korean and Korean-Canadian undergraduate and graduate students to compete for the six available 2019 Korean Honor Scholarships. (Six scholarships will be awarded in Canada this year.) The scholarship is awarded to encourage outstanding students who have Korean heritage to achieve their highest academic potential and develop leadership skills for their future careers. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be attending a college or university, at least both the 2018 fall and 2019 spring semesters in the Canada and must have an overall grade average of 3.0 or higher(on a 4.0 basis). In addition to the academic criteria, an essay, letters of recommendation, awards, honors, performances and extracurricular activities are also reviewed for the selection process. This year’s scholarship restrictions have been modified. A student, who has previously obtained a KHS scholarship at the undergraduate level, may also apply again for a KHS Scholarship at the graduate level as well. (Previously, only one scholarship was given to a student, regardless of the academic level.) 1.
