2019년 12월 20일 주 토론토총영사관에서 2019 재외동포문학상 전수식을 진행하였습니다. 재외동포문학상은 노스욕컴머밸리학교의 박새미 학생이 받았습니다. 박새미 학생은 재외동포재단이 주최하는 '제 21회 재외동포문학상' 공모에서 우수한 작품을 출품하여 재외동포 청소년들의 한국어교육에 크게 기여하였기에 상을 받게 되었습니다. 전수식에는 안혜정 주토론토부총영사님과 이종원 캐나다한국교육원장님이 함께했습니다.

이종원 원장은 경기도교육청 소속 교사 30명이 참석하고 더프린필카톨릭교육청(DPCDSB)에서 실시하는 역량강화 연수에 개강식에 참석하여 연수생들을 격려하였습니다. 이번 연수는 경기도교육청 경기도언어교육연수원 관내 교사를 대상으로 선발하여 파견하고 DPCDSB가 운영하는 연수 과정입니다. 연수 기간 동안 교사들은 캐나디언 홈스테이 가정에서 생활하며, 다양한 문화체험을 통해 캐나다의 교육과 생활에 대해 이해하는 시간을 갖게 됩니다.
