2021 하반기 온라인 한국유학 설명회 성료 - 10개 한국 대학 직접 참여 및 설명 기회 제공 - □ 주토론토총영사관 캐나다한국교육원(원장 이종원)은 캐나다 시각으로 9월 23일(한국시각 9월 24일) 밴쿠버에서 「2021년 온라인 한국유학 설명회(2021 Study in Korea Online Fair)」를 개최하였다. ◦ 이에 앞서, 교육원은 지난 6월 21일 토론토에서도 온라인 한국유학 설명회를 개최한 바 있으며 당시 설명회에는 한국의 6개 대학과 170여명의 북미 고등학생 및 대학생이 참여하여 한국 유학에 대한 많은 관심을 나타냈었다. ◦ 이번 설명회는 지난 행사와 달리 한국의 모든 대학에게 참여 신청 안내를 하여 10개*의 참가 대학을 선정하였고, 대학들이 직접 학교에 대해 홍보할 수 있는 기회를 제공하여 학생에게 보다 정확하고 유익한 정보를 제공하는 기회가 되었다. * 참여 대학 : 중앙대학교, 서강대학교, 대구한의대학교, 성신여자대학교, 숙명여자대학교, 서울예술대학교, 경희대학교, 단국대학교, 서울시립대학교, 건국대학교 □ 이번 설명회는 사전에 온라인을 통해 전 세계에서 총 190명이 참가 신청을 하였으나 북미 지역 거주자 총 139명만 Zoom Webinar에 초청하여 진행되었다. ◦ 설명회는 참여 학생을 대상으로 입학안내, 장학금 혜택, 비자 종류 및 발급 방법, 캐나다 대학과 한국 대학 간의 Exchange Program 등 한국 유학과 관련한 정보들을 제공하였다. 특히, 설명회 진행 중에 참여 학생들과 각 대학 관계자 간의 실시간 채팅을 통한 질의응답으로 학생들이 정확한 정보를 얻을 수 있었다. ◦ 또한, Zoom Webinar 이외에 사전 신청을 하지 못한 학생을 위해 캐나다한국교육원 Instagram Live 방송으로도 동시에 행사를 중계하여 추가로 60여명의 학생들이 설명회를 시청하였다. □ 이종원 교육원장은 올해 처음으로 진행된 상․하반기 온라인 한국유학 설명회를 통해 한국 유학을 준비하는 캐나다 학생들에게 정확한 정보를 전달할 수 있는 기회가 되었다며 내년에도 지속적으로 개최할 계획이라고 밝혔다. ◦ 또한, 캐나다 내에서 한국어 수업을 수강하고 있는 고등학생 및 대학교 한국어 강좌 수강생들을 대상으로 한 「찾아가는 온라인 한국유학설명회」를 하반기에 추가로 진행할 예정이라고 밝혔다. <한국유학설명회를 진행하고 있는 SOS유학원 Ryan Cha이사, 캐나다한국교육원 Edward Jang 연구원> <한국유학설명회 참가: 단국대학교> <한국유학설명회 참가: 경희대학교> <한국유학설명회: 유학 비자 종류 및 신청방법 안내>

Dear Parents, Guardians and/or Caregivers: I hope you and your family are doing well and your child’s day school routines are going well. Responding to current circumstances beyond our control the International Languages-Elementary/African Heritage program has gone virtual since March 2020. Thank you for your previous support for the summer program (July 2021) and we were pleased to see that it worked very well in most cases. Both students and parents were very fond of it. This Fall, the International Languages – Elementary / African Heritage Program will be offering on-line language classes to students—kindergarten to grade 8 (TDSB and non-TDSB). Students will again take part in a remote/at-home learning environment. One day each week they will have live face-to-face interactive lessons with their instructor and other students for approximately 30 minutes through Google Meet. The remaining two hours will be spent on independent work through Google Classroom. Program activities will be focused on building every student’s abilities in oral communication, reading and writing. If you are interested in registering your child, please choose one of the schools below in the list. To register, click here In order to complete the online registration, you must have your child’s Ontario Education Number (OEN). The Ontario Education Number can be found in your child’s report card. Parent(s)/Guardian(s) may choose the same language only once. Parents may choose up to five (5) different languages. Please ensure that class times do not overlap with each other I kindly ask that you share the attached flyers with your friends and community to support registrations for ILE/AH program. 2021 Korea-Canada Culture Exchange Video Contest The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto is pleased to host the 2021 Korea-Canada Culture Exchange Video Contest. Please submit video applications from August 10 to September 28, 2021. Ways to submit the video applications: 1. Select one of the following themes: ▲Introducing 3 Best of Korean culture ▲Introducing 3 Best of Canadian culture ▲Korean culture challenge ▲Canadian culture challenge (If you want to choose two or more themes, you must submit a separate video application for each theme.) 2.
