The Korean Education Affairs Section from the Korean Consulate in Toronto (Head: Jihoon Jang) held a Study in Korea Info Session during 2025 Korea Day at the University of Toronto, on March 8th, for Ontario High School Credit Course Students. As Korea Day aims to celebrate and gather high school students actively engaging in Korean language and cultural immersion, the Study in Korea Info Sessions covered a range of relevant topics from general information on Korea, government-sponsored (Global Korea Scholarship) and university scholarships, various types of study programs, and information pertaining to the lifestyle and living costs in Korea. By discussing these topics in-depth and providing resources, participants were encouraged to consider future study in Korea opportunities as they continue their education, and language and cultural learning. The Info Session also included a testimonial from a former Canadian exchange student at Yonsei University, the exchange application process and resources, and a discussion on internship experiences in Korea.

The Korean Education Affairs Section from the Korean Consulate in Toronto (Head: Jihoon Jang) hosted 2025 Korea Day at the University of Toronto, on March 8th, for Ontario High School Credit Course Students. The event is aimed at celebrating the achievements of high school students, who actively engage in Korean language and cultural immersion, and to allow those students to connect with their peers and to meet other like-minded students from across the province. The opening half of the event began with the first round of the speech contest, which included 10 non-Korean division contestants and 3 Korean division contestants. Following the speeches, the top 8 non-Korean contestants were selected by judges to move on to the next round at the 2025 Toronto Korean Speech Contest, which is scheduled for March 15th at the University of Toronto. Following the speech contest, an information session on the 2025 Summer Korean Immersion Camp and Study in Korea opportunities and testimonials were held. The second half of the event included a raffle draw, that gave attendees a chance to win a variety of Korean snacks and prizes, and a talent show that involved 29 students (10 teams/solo participants) from across 7 schools. Concluding the talent show, the audience voted for their favorite team and based on the results, the top 3 teams were awarded.

2024년 7월 29일부터 8월 9일까지 실시된 여름 한국어 집중 캠프 결산보고입니다.

3월 9일, 주토론토총영사관(원장: 장지훈)은 토론토대학교(Earth Sciences Centre)에서 2025 Korea Day 행사에 참여한 고등학교 한국어반 학생들을 대상으로 한국유학 설명회(Study in Korea Info Session)를 개최하였습니다. 이번 행사에는 광역 온타리오 지역에서 한국어를 공부하는 약 150명의 학생과 학부모들이 참여하였으며, 한국 유학에 대한 전반적인 안내와 함께 정부 초청 외국인 장학생 프로그램을 비롯한 다양한 장학금 제도, 교환학생 프로그램, 한국 대학의 외국인 특별 전형 및 유학을 위한 학생 비자 등 유익한 정보를 제공하였습니다. 또한, 2022년 연세대학교 교환학생 프로그램에 참여한 Edward Jang 인턴이 교환학생 프로그램에 대한 실제 경험을 공유하고, 한국에서의 생활 팁과 코업 준비 과정 및 경험담을 전하며, 유학에 관심 있는 학생들에게 실질적인 조언을 제공하는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌습니다.

주토론토총영사관 캐나다한국교육원(원장: 장지훈)은 3월 8일 토론토대학교(Earth Sciences Centre)에서 관내 고등학교 한국어반 학생들을 대상으로 「2025 Korea Day」를 진행하였습니다.  이번 행사에는 토론토 현지 고등학교에 개설되어 운영되고 있는 한국어 학점반 교육 프로그램의 일환으로 진행되었습니다. 본 행사는 크게 1부 한국어말하기 대회와 2부 장기자랑 순서로 진행되었으며, 한국어 집중캠프 홍보와 한국 유학과 교환학생 프로그램 등을 안내하는 유학설명회도 함께 진행하였습니다. 오전에 진행된 1부에서는 총 15명이 참가하여 고등학생 한국어 말하기 대회를 실시했습니다. 비한인부문과 한인부분으로 구분하여 진행된 말하기 대회에서 비한인 부문 10명의 참가자중 8명은 3월 15일 토론토 대학교에서 있을 「2025 제 19회 토론토 한국어 말하기 대회」 고등부 참가 자격을 얻게 되었습니다. 말하기 대회 이후에는 한국어반 학생들을 대상으로 여름 한국어 집중캠프 홍보와 한국유학설명회를 진행하여, 한국과 한국 유학 전반에 관한 소개, 국내 대학과 교환학생 안내를 진행하였습니다. 이어진 2부에서는 총 7개의 학교 29명이 참가한 장기자랑 순서가 있었습니다. 장기자랑이 끝난 후 Raffle Draw도 진행하여, 행사에 참여한 많은 학생들이 한국 간식와 한국 물품들을 즐길 수 있는 시간도 가졌습니다. 마지막으로, 인기투표를 통해 장기자랑에서 최대 득표를 한 3개 팀에 인기상을 시상하였습니다.

We hereby announce the new project funding plan for the 2025 Korean Studies Promotion Program. 1. Program Information    □ Program Objectives ◦ Establish infrastructure for overseas Korean Studies research and education through the support of g lobal Korean Studies hubs. ◦ Create Korean Studies content that meets international demands based on domestic and overseas Korean Studies research achievements. ◦ Enhance the capability of domestic and overseas Korean Studies through the support  for research, translation, and dictionary compilation and publication.   ◦ Strengthen the foundation of Korean Studies through the collection of fundamental Korean Studies materials and the establishment of related databases.   □ Program Support Details (Budget Unit: KRW million) *  The Laboratory Program grant is given once as a lump sum in the first year of the three-year project period.  **  Grand Series of Korean Studies Program will select authors for a total of 15 volumes (3 major themes; approximately 5 volumes per theme). The grant per book is 60 million KRW and the manuscript should be completed in two years. ※ The above table lists the maximum possible budget for each project. Restrictions on Applications and Participation • An individual may participate simultaneously in three or fewer projects supported by the Korean Ministry  of Education research grants. However, an individual may serve as project director for only two projects.
