[The Academy of Korean Studies] 2026–2027 Special Admission Gudlines for the Graduate School of Korean Studies

The Graduate School of Korean Studies at the Academy of Korean Studies, a public institution under the Ministry of Education of Korea, is recruiting new students for the 2026 and 2027 Special Admission as follows.

1) Degree Programs: Master’s Program or Doctoral Program

2) Fields of Study: 13 majors in Korean-related humanities and social sciences

3) Scholarships for International Students and Overseas Koreans

• Full tuition waiver for the entire study period for all admitted students

• 15 newly admitted students will receive a Korean Government Study Scholarship for 1 year, including a monthly living stipend of 800,000 KRW

4) Eligibility Requirements

Education		Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
Languag Proficiency	Applicants for the Korean Culture Studies major	Must have one of the following English test scores: -TOEFL iBT 80 or higher -IELTS Academic 6.5 or higher -TEPS 301 or higher	-Only Master’s program applicants are accepted -TOPIK score is not required
	Applicants for majors other than Korean Culture Studies	Must have TOPIK level 4 or higher

5) Online Application Period

• 2026 Fall Special Admission (Admission Date: September 1, 2026): March 9, 2026 – March 20, 2026

• 2027 Spring Special Admission (Admission Date: March 1, 2027): August 31, 2026 – September 11, 2026
