[National Korean Maritime & Ocean University] Announcement for Start of 2nd Semester Applications: Korean Language Program

As of March 2025, applications for the 2nd semester of the Korean Language Program at the Korea Maritime & Ocean University (KMOU) have opened. The 2nd semester runs from June 2 to August 11.


As applications for the 2nd semester close on May 2, be sure to prepare and submit your documents beforehand.

  • Program Overview

    o Program Name: Korean Language Program at the Korean Language Institute, National Korea Maritime & Ocean University (KMOU)

    o Program Duration: 10 weeks of instruction time (200 hours) per semester / 4 semesters annually / (start dates) March, June, September, December


  • Program Content

    o Intensive Korean language training in speaking, listening, writing, reading, and grammar

    o Korean cultural experience activities (traditional and modern cultural field trips, taekwondo, historical tours, etc.)

    o KMOU mentoring program


  • Other Benefits

    o Dorms available (first come, first serve)

    o Airport pickup service available

    o Special classes for Korean Language Proficiency Test (TOPIK) preparation

    o Students who attain Level 3 and above in TOPIK or have passed Level 3 Class at the Korean Language Institute are qualified to apply for undergraduate courses at KMOU

    o Various scholarships, including merit-based scholarships and entrance scholarships
