We hereby announce the new project funding plan for the 2022 Korean Studies Promotion Program. Program Information • Program Objectives o Establish infrastructure for overseas Korean Studies research and education through the support of Global Korean Studies hubs. o Create Korean Studies content based on domestic Korean Studies research achievements to meet overseas demand. o Boost the capability of domestic and overseas Korean Studies through the support of research, translation, and dictionary compilation. o Strengthen the foundation of Korean Studies through the collection of fundamental Korean Studies materials and the establishment of related databases. • Program Support Details * The Laboratory Program grant is given once as a lump sum in the first year of the three-year project period. ** Grand Series of Korean Studies Program will select 15 projects for a total of 15 volumes (3 major themes; 5 volumes each per theme). Each volume is supported up to sixty million KRW and should be authored within 2 years. ※ The above table lists the maximum possible budget for each project. 한국학중앙연구원에서는 한국학에 관심을 갖고 있는 외국인 대학생(학부생)들을 대상으로 한국문화강좌를 운영하고 있습니다. 본 강좌는 외국인 대학생들에게 한국의 언어와 문화를 직접 배우고 체험할 수 있는 기회를 제공함으로써 한국에 대한 전반적인 이해도를 증진시키고, 이를 통해 미래의 한국학 연구자를 육성하는 것을 목표로 하고 있습니다. 한국문화와 관련된 주제별 특강, 한국어 강좌, 전통문화체험 그리고 문화유적답사 등으로 구성되는 본 강좌는 1993년 이래 총 31회에 걸쳐 70여 개국 908명의 학생들이 참가한 바 있습니다. 2021년에는 코로나19 상황을 감안하여 온라인으로 실시간 한국어 수업과 한국학 특강을 진행했고, 참가자들로부터 좋은 호응을 받았습니다. 2022년에도 전 세계적으로 코로나19 상황이 지속될 것으로 예상되어 2021년과 동일하게 온라인 방식으로 프로그램을 진행할 예정입니다. 여름방학을 이용하여 총 2회 온라인으로 진행될 한국문화강좌에 참가를 희망하시는 분은 아래사항을 참조하여 지원해 주시기 바랍니다. 2022 Toronto Korean Speech Contest: for non-Korean students who study Korean language to encourage them to learn more about Korean & K-culture □ The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto (Korean Education Centre in Canada) will virtually host ‘2022 Toronto Korean Speech Contest’on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 12:00pm-16:00pm in partnership with the Centre for the Study of Korea of the University of Toronto. □ This year marks the 16th anniversary of the Toronto Korean Speech Contest, which is annually held for non-Korean students learning Korean.
