캐나다한국교육원(원장 이지은)은 지난 10월 26일(일), 토론토대학교(Hart House at the University of Toronto)에서 열린 '2025 Study and Go Abroad Fair'에 참가했습니다. 방문자를 대상으로 1:1 상담 부스를 운영해 한국 유학, GKS 등 국가 장학 제도, EPIK, 교환학생 프로그램 등을 안내하고 설문조사를 통해 참가자들의 니즈를 파악하였습니다. 또한 K-Gift를 받을 수 있는 룰렛 이벤트와 인증샷 이벤트 등을 진행하여 참가자들이 한국 문화를 직접 경험할 수 있는 기회를 제공했습니다. 한편 'Study and Go Abroad Fair'는 캐나다 연방 이민난민부 산하 협력교류기관인 IEC 주최 박람회로 총 70여곳의 재외공관 및 대학이 참여했으며 다수의 현지 고등학생 및 대학생이 활발히 참여했습니다.

캐나다한국교육원 이지은 원장은 지난 10월 18일(토) 캐나다한국학교협회가 주최한 '2025년도 캐나다 한글학교 연합교사실기 연수'에 참석하였습니다. 이번 연수는 캐나다 내 한글학교 교사의 전문성을 강화하고 교사 간 정보 교류 활성화 및 네트워크 구축을 위한 자리로, 한국어 교육 역량을 높이고 한글학교의 미래를 함께 모색하였습니다. 이지은 원장은 그동안 학생들에게 우리말과 한국의 역사를 알린 교사들의 헌신과 노력에 감사를 전하며 앞으로도 한글학교를 통해 학생들이 자긍심을 느낄 수 있도록 적극적인 활동을 당부하였습니다.

Lee Ji-eun, Director of the Korean Education Centre in Canada, attended the “2025 Canadian Korean School Teachers’ Practical Training Workshop” hosted by the Canadian Association of Korean Schools on Saturday, October 18. The workshop provided an opportunity to enhance the professionalism of Korean school teachers across Canada, promote information exchange, strengthen networking, and further develop Korean language teaching skills while discussing the future of Korean schools. Director Lee expressed her appreciation for the teachers’ dedication to educating students in the Korean language and history, and encouraged them to continue fostering pride in Korean heritage through their ongoing efforts at Korean schools.

The Korean Education Centre in Canada held a Study in Korea Info Session on October 17 at the University of Ottawa for undergraduate students. The session provided comprehensive information on studying in Korea, including the Government Scholarship Program for International Students (GKS), various scholarship opportunities, partner universities that have agreements with the University of Ottawa, as well as application procedures and related programs. The Korean Education Centre will continue to promote Korean education and culture, supporting more students in exploring new opportunities and pathways abroad.
