Introduction to Korean Society and Culture
The Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies [LA&PS] is proud to sponsor and promote the Summer Program at the Seoul National University of Education (SNUE). With support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Korean Education Centre, this Summer Program introduces York University students to South Korea and Korean culture. Students are eligible to have this course transferred back to their York degree as a Letter of Permission (3.0 credits).
Program Dates: June 25 to July 6, 2019 at SNUE, Seoul, South Korea
Program Fee: $1,200
Includes:
Accommodation on SNUE campus (dormitory style: Two students per bedroom & Shared bathroom (by gender) )
Welcome lunch
Lunch provided for whole day field trips
"SNUE BUDDY" with students from SNUE
All cultural site visits :
- DMZ (Demilitarized Zone)
- Namsan Korean Village & Seoul Tower
- National Museum
- Kimchi Museum
- Canadian Embassy in Korea
- SNUE Elementary School
- Gyeongbok Palace
- Namdaemon Market
- K-Pop Centre
English will be the language of instruction for the course
Students are invited to complete one or both courses (SNUE & PNU), at the cost of $1,200 each.
If studying both courses students responsible to travelling from Seoul to Pusan at their own expense.
Students are responsible for paying for airfare, personal spending and LOP fees.
Funding is available from the Faculty of LA&PS for up to $1,000 towards the program fee for the Summer abroad course. Funding is also available from York International, as well as other sources. Please review our Funding page for more information.
