2026 GKS Alumni Invitation Program

The National Institute for International Education (NIIED) operates the 2026 GKS Alumni Invitation Program for distinguished alumni of the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) who have returned to their home countries and have made notable achievements in their respective fields.

In connection with the 2026 GKS Alumni Invitation Program, the Korean Education Affairs Section plans to recommend one GKS alumnus/alumna from Canada to NIIED.

Eligible GKS alumni who wish to apply are invited to review the attached program guidelines and submit the required documents by Friday, August 21, 2026.

Program Period: November 1 (Sun.) – November 8 (Sun.), 2026 (8 days / 7 nights)
※ Dates are subject to change.
Number of Invitees: Approximately 15 GKS alumni
Program Support: Round-trip airfare, accommodation, meals, and program-related expenses
Number of Nominees from Canada: 1
Application Deadline: Friday, August 21, 2026
Required Documents: Application Form, Pledge, and Copy of Passport
How to Apply: Complete the required forms provided in Attachment 2 and submit them to the diplomatic mission with jurisdiction over your region. A scanned copy of your passport must be submitted in PDF format.
Selection Process: NIIED will make the final selection from among the candidates nominated by overseas diplomatic missions.
Announcement of Results: Selected applicants will be notified individually by email, and the relevant diplomatic missions will also be notified through an official document in early September.
