Course Description
Designed for absolute beginners with little to no prior knowledge of Korean, this course introduces the fundamental elements of the Korean language, including Hangeul, basic vocabulary, and essential grammatical structures.
By utilizing various audio-visual learning materials including K-pop and K-dramas, the course aims to help learners achieve a balanced foundation across the four core language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Materials
Instructor-made slides, handouts, speaking prompts, role play activities, and short dialogues
Learning Goals
1. Understand the basic phonetic system of Korean and pronounce Korean sounds accurately.
2. Master basic pronunciation rules to accurately read and write.
3. Become familiar with essential daily greetings and polite expressions, building full confidence in using Hangeul.
Class Rules
1. Try to be on time. Arriving a few minutes early helps the class start smoothly.
2. Turning on your camera is encouraged. Students may use a profile photo if needed.
3. Keep your microphone muted when you are not speaking.
4. Enjoy the learning process. Let us have fun and learn together.
5. Most important rule: If you know the word in Korean, try to say it in Korean.
