2026 Global Korea Scholarship (GKS-G) Program for Graduate Degrees

The Global Korea Scholarship (GKS-G) offers international students the opportunity to study at higher education institutions in Korea, enhancing global educational exchange and fostering mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.


We are pleased to announce that seven Canadian nationals (six Canadians, one overseas Korean) will be selected to participate in the “2026 Global Korea Scholarship Program for International Students for a Graduate Degree” in Korea. The program includes one year of Korean language training followed by a 4-6 year degree program.


Benefits: Covers round-trip airfare, tuition,100% living expenses, medical insurance, and language training.


Eligibility: Applicants (and their parents) must be citizens of Canada other than Korea for the Embassy Track


Age: Under 40 years old.


Academic: Must hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent degree with a GPA of at least 80%.


Application Process: Online application through the Study in Korea website (www.studyinkorea.go.kr)

- After registering for membership on the website, proceed with the application process by filling out the required fields and uploading the necessary documents

If a university requires additional documents (e.g., portfolio), applicants must submit those materials directly to the university


Application Submission Period: 2026.2.12.(Thu) 11:00 ~ 2.25.(Wed) 18:00 ※ All times are based on Korean Standard Time (KST)


Apostille Convention Notice: As of January 11, 2024, Canada has joined the Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents ("Apostille Convention"). Canadian public and private documents intended for use in Korea now only require an Apostille certificate, eliminating the need for further legalization at the Korean Embassy.


Important Notice:

  • Canadian Government-Issued Documents: Apostille certification required

  • Notarized Documents by Canadian Notary Public: Apostille certification required
