2020 Korea Week : Stay Strong Enjoy Together



□ The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto is holding 2020 Korea Week to celebrate Korean Heritage Month in Ontario to showcase diverse Korean culture.


   ◎ The 2020 Korea Week has been organized in collaboration with Korea Foundation, Korea Tourism Organization Toronto Office, University of Toronto Centre for the Study of Korea, Korean Artists’ Society Canada, Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), Reel Asian International Film Festival, University of Toronto Korean Students' Association, etc.


□ Under the theme of ‘Stay Strong Enjoy Together’, the Korea Week events will deliver a message of hope that everyone can enjoy culture safely and comfortably in the coronavirus era highlighting various cultural assets in Korean art, tour, film, pops, etc.


   ◎ Korean Art Week

   (1) On Oct. 7, 2020 at 4pm A curator's talk on Korean leading artist’s exhibition ‘Haegue Yang: Emergence‘ at the AGO (The exhibition is held at the AGO from Oct. 1, 2020 to Jan 31. 2021 on Thursdays to Sundays, free for AGO members, AGO Annual Pass Holders, Visitors 25 & under.    (2) On Oct. 13 & Oct. 15, 2020 at 7pm Korean Visual Arts Webinars organized by Korean Artists Society of Canada (Search for free tickets for 2020 Korea Week @ eventbrite.ca)

   (3) On Oct. 21 - Nov. 1, 2020 Korean Artists Society of Canada’s Virtual Exhibition "Symbiotic World" @ kascgallery.com


   ◎ Korean Tour Week

   (4) On Oct. 20, Oct. 22, Oct. 27 & Oct. 29, 2020 at 9pm Discover Korean beautiful heritages through Classical Korea Virtual Tours

   ◎ 2020 Quiz on Korea 

   (5) On Oct. 24, 2020 at 2pm A participatory quiz contest for non-Koreans who study Korean language in Canada to enhance knowledge about Korean culture

   ◎ Korean Film Week 

   (6) On Nov. 12-19, 2020 Online screenings & dialogues on two Korean films "Moving On (directed by Yoon Danbi) and "Dust and Ashes (directed by Park Hee-kwon) presented in Reel Asian International Film Festival (see details @ reelasian.com)


   ◎ K-POP Night 

   (7) On Nov. 21, 2020 online KPOP video contest organized by University of Toronto
