2018 My Dream of the Future Essay & Speech Contest for Adolescents with a Korean background

Do you dream of becoming the next international pop star? What about the first Canadian Prime Minister of Korean descent? Will you be a future actress just like Sandra Oh or Grace Park? Hope to be the most successful Korean entrepreneur in Canada?


Let's talk about your role for the future as a person of Korean Heritage who lives in Canada. The Korean Education Centre in Canada at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea is announcing the 3rd “My Dream of the Future Essay & Speech Contest" for Korean adolescents in Ontario. Your essay should discuss how your role will help boost bilateral relations between Korea and Canada (culturally, politically or economically). $3,800 in cash prizes will be awarded this year.   • Eligibility- Anyone the ages of 12 -17 of Korean Descent in Ontario (Including Permanent Residents, Canadian Citizens, Study Permit holders, Single-side Korean families & Adoptees)

  • Topic - My Future Role and how to achieve the role as someone of Korean descent living in Canada and how this role will help enhance Canada-Korea relations.

  • What to do –

  1. Download the application form at www.cakec.com

  2. 1st round - Writing Contest (Written essay in English)

  3. 2nd round - Video Contest (Speech video in English)

  4. Submit by email to koreducation@gmail.com

  5. Final round - Speech Contest at All TV

  • Division -

  • Students G 7-9 or Ages 12-14: Maximum of 2 pages Essay (letter size)

  • Students G 10-12 or Ages 15-17: Maximum of 3 pages Essay (letter size)

  • Schedule -

  • Deadline for Written Contest submission - September 24 ~ October 24 24:00 (by email only)

  • 2nd round entrants will be announced: October 26 17:00 on the Korean Education Centre website.

  • Deadline for Video Contest submission - November 1 17:00

  • Competition finalists will be announced: November 5 17:00 on the Korean Education Centre website

  • Competition and Awards ceremony: November 16 at the All TV

  • * Schedule may be changed as needed

  • Prizes (Total of $3,800)

  • Grand Prize (1/all divisions): $1,000

  • All TV Prize (1/all divisions): $1,000

  • 2nd place (1 from each divisions - total 2): $500

  • 3rd place (2 from each divisions - total 4) $200

  • Hosted by Korean Education Centre in Canada at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto & All TV
